I belong to a van club called the Central Connecticut Coachmen. We do alot of camping with other clubs in the US. Clubs will hold weekend van rallyes all over the place. We get together to party, play games, have bands, van shows and competition. All and all, just a fun weekend. Many vans have themes that we choose to personalize them.
I want to give you a place where you can go to so you can see what vanning in America is all about. Our club does not have a web page yet, but we're working on it. I've been in it since 1975. There are some nice pictures and links that you can get to.
In the pictures that I,m sending, the ones that have Falkor flying with the ivory tower in the background, and with the rockbiter riding through the forest which as you see , the nothing already got there, are pictures of the first mural that I had painted on back around 1988. I didn't have it cleared over properly, so with New England weather, it didn't hold up.Just around the same time I was deciding what to do with it, the 2nd movie came out. Perfect. The scenes with the Ivory Tower with the Rainbow and the scene with the montage of caracters Falcor,Jr,artex, nimbly are from the new mural painted in 1991.
The van is a 1979 Ford Econoline which I am the original owner of. The mural was painted by a local artist Gary Reed. Actually, both sides of the new mural were taken from movie posters.
New pictures from the van |
I've been doing very well in van shows this summer, with three 1st place and one 2nd place trophys for my class. So Neverending Story lives on. So many people will come up and say, " I remember that movie" In the van show in New York 1999 my van was voted Best in Show of all the vans there. Neverending Story is still alive and well in the van-world.
